This course is based on the article, Real World Project Management: Do as I say, not as they teach. The article explores the contrast between the formal project management tools that are taught and the more informal, home-grown project management practices in firms. The author identifies the problems arising from the latter and presents possible approaches to address some of the challenges experienced through an over-reliance on informal approaches. The article highlights factors that are important to project success.
