This course is based on the article, What do Project Managers Actually Do? Exploring Micro-Practices of Managing Temporary Organizational Forms. The article examines the differences between the theory and practice of traditional project management and suggests a new approach to the study of project management. The article covers lessons learnt from the practices of 86 project managers and identifies 10 core practices of project managers. These practices form a set of building blocks for a practice-perspective of project-based organisation and present an alternative to the theoretical paradigm currently dominating the field.

Keywords: Managing; strategy advantage.
