The study compared the level of knowledge of Primary Health Care workers on prevention and control of selected non-communicable diseases in rural and urban local government areas of a South Western State in Nigeria.

Educational Objectives

Educational Aim:
The aim of this article was to compare the knowledge of health care workers in Primary Health Care facilities regarding the prevention and control of NCDs in rural and urban local government areas of Osun State, Nigeria.

Educational Outcomes:
Upon completion of this module practitioners should have a clear understanding of:

1. The burden of major non-communicable diseases (NCDs)

2. Major modifiable risk factors for NCDs
3. The importance of Primary Health Care (PHC) in prevention and control of NCDS
4. Various cadres of health care workers (HCWs) in the PHC facilities in Nigeria
5. Identify gap in level of knowledge of HCWs on prevention and control of NCDs in PHC facilities in rural and urban local government areas (LGAs) in Nigeria
6. Determinants of adequate knowledge of prevention and control of NCDs among the HCWs
7. Recommendations to improve the knowledge of HCWs on prevention and control of NCDs in the PHC facilities
8. Various aspects of research method as it pertains to this study.
