Educational Aim:
The aim of this article is to provide a systems psychodynamic description of the lived experiences of a group of clinical psychologist’s role transition towards becoming organisational development consultants.

Educational Outcomes:
Upon completion of this module practitioners should have a clear understanding of:

  2. The systems psychodynamic stance on role transitioning
  3. Using a qualitative, hermeneutic phenomenological research approach, a collective case study strategy as design, and a Listening Post and a socio-analytic interview as methods, to collect, analyse interpret data towards formulating a systems psychodynamic hypothesis about lived experiences  
  4. A group of clinical psychologists’ lived experience before, during and after they took up the role as organisational development consultants in various large South African organisations
  5. How the role of organisational development consultant in large organisations, can be optimised by a rational and supportive approach to the inclusion of clinical psychologists.
