Educational Aim:
The aim of this article is to provide a clinically relevant overview of the pathophysiology, diagnosis and management of acute coronary syndromes, with the support of a case study.

Educational Outcomes:
Upon completion of this module practitioners should have a clear understanding of:

1. Updated algorithms in the diagnosis and therapy of acute coronary syndromes.

2. A clear understanding of the pathobiology of acute coronary syndromes
3. Management options particularly the acute phase of treatment and the later, secondary prevention measures to be implemented after the acute phase.
