Biofilm elimination from infected root canals using four different single files
This study evaluated four endodontic file systems against E. faecalis biofilms in root canals, finding that XP-endo Shaper, Hyflex EDM, and One Curve effectively reduced biofilm but couldn’t fully eliminate it.
Educational Objectives
Educational Aim:
To inform endodontic professionals about the effectiveness of different file systems in reducing E. faecalis biofilms in root canals. By comparing the biofilm-removal efficacy of various file systems, the study seeks to guide clinicians in selecting optimal chemomechanical strategies for root canal disinfection, ultimately improving patient outcomes in endodontic treatments
Educational Outcomes:
Upon completion of this module practitioners should have a clear understanding of:
- The enhanced Knowledge of File System Efficacy
- Biofilm Challenges
- The informed Decision-Making in File Selection
