According to the study longitudinal melanonychia (LM) is wider in subungual melanoma (SUM) than in benign LM

Sixty cases of benign LM were compared with 8 cases of SUM and analyzed thoroughly to conclude that the width of the band can predict SUM against other benign conditions.
