The aim of this article is to investigate which assistive devices people with advanced cancer have and whether they are in use. In addition, to explore the characteristics of people with advanced cancer who has unmet needs for assistive devices.

Educational Outcomes:
Upon completion of this module practitioners should have a clear understanding of:

  1. The role of assistive devices in palliative care
  2. Which assistive devices are often prescribed in this population and which of these are actually used
  3. The most commonly used and most commonly unused assistive devices
  4. The characteristics of those who have unmet needs for assistive devices and how they differ from the other participants.
