Educational Objectives

Educational Aim:
The aim of this article was to evaluate the effect of regurgitation on the quality of CPR during a resus. It looked primarily at CPR quality metrics like chest compression fraction, compression depth/rate and interruption time. Secondarily it looked at the effect on intubation time and success.

Educational Outcomes:
Upon completion of this module practitioners should have a clear understanding of:

  1. CPR quality metrics
  2. How regurgitation factors in as a complication
  3. Whether regurgitation during intubation has an effect on survival rates
