Treating hyperkalemia while predicting post treatment hypoglycaemia

A high-risk complication of treating hyperkalemia is the development of hypoglycaemia. This study was conducted to determine if hypoglycaemia could be predicted in order to manage the patient most efficiently throughout.

Educational Aim:
The aim of this article is to look at the treatment of hyperkalemia and the effect the insulin and glucose protocol may have in causing post treatment hypoglycaemia.

3. the risk criteria that may indicate hypoglycaemia post treatment.
