Educational Aim:

The aim of this article is to investigate the difference in therapeutic competence between novices and experienced students and psychotherapists.

Educational Outcomes:
Upon completion of this module practitioners should have a clear understanding of:

  1. how aesthetic relational knowing, a basic therapeutic skill, is present in novices and experienced students and psychotherapists
  2. which dimensions of aesthetic relational knowing significantly differentiate levels of expertise in psychotherapy
  3. which dimensions of psychotherapists’ intuition are less present at the beginning of training, and therefore to orient trainers about contents and modes to be supported in first-year students.
