The aim of this article is to connect individual-level perceptions with group-level perceptions when perceivers implicitly judge others.

Educational Outcomes:
Upon completion of this module practitioners should have a clear understanding of:

  1. Individuating information takes primacy over stereotypes in implicit person perceptions under certain circumstances.
  2. Changes in implicit judgments of counter-stereotypic exemplars may potentially lead to changes in implicit group stereotypes.
  3. Gender stereotypes in implicit person perception are not fully responsive to individuating information while racial stereotypes in implicit person perception are fully responsive to individuating information.
