Educational Aim:
The aim of this article is to review genetic breast cancer screening services offered to South African women and to identify the presence and incidence of pathogenic variants in BRCA1/2 previously reported in all South African populations.

Educational Outcomes:
Upon completion of this module practitioners should have a clear understanding of:

1. The current targeted screening tests are offered.
2. The presence and incidence of pathogenic variants in BRCA1/2 in the population tested.
3.  The impact of these targeted screening tests on the entire population tested.
